Mezzo Soprano
Daniella Ehrlich, is an Australian Mezzo Soprano. She has perfomed with Almeida, Aldeburgh Festival, Holland Park Opera, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Opera Australia, Brooklyn Opera, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Youth Orchestra, Sydney Festival, Jeunesse Musicales World Youth Choir, Israel Vocal Arts Institute, International Vocal Arts Chiari, Australian Acrobatic Spectacular and Stars on Ice and Divas Incognito.
Her roles include Dodo (The Merry Widow), Flora (La Traviata), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Mary Magdalene (Infinito Nero ), Carmen, Mercedes, Tolomeo (Giulio Cesare), Bertarido (Rodelinda), Forrester's Wife, Owl, Chicken (Cunning Little Vixen), Dorabella, Hansel, Third Maid (Elektra),
Polly (Beggars Opera), Third Lady (Magic Flute), Melanto and Ericlea
(Ritorno dUlisse) and L'Enfant (L'Enfant et les Sortileges).
On the concert platform she has performed Beethoven Ninth Symphony, Mozart Requiem, Vivaldi Gloria, Dvorak and Pergolesi Stabat Mater, Handel Messiah and has given recitals in Australia, USA, Denmark, Sweden, France, Germany and Spain.
Daniella has a Masters of Music from the Manhattan School of Music in
New York and a Bachelor of Music and Diploma of Opera from
The Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She teaches piano and singing to students of all ages and has recently also began to teach pilates.
In 2004, she made her UK debut with Almeida Theatre Company and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in a one woman opera called Infinito Nero by Salvatore Sciarrino and also performed roles in 3 operas
as part of the Genesis Opera Projects in assosciation with Alderburgh Festival. She is currently performing with Welsh National Opera after making her Welsh debut as Maddalena in Rigoletto and sings with the corporate duo Operacatz. Daniella recently covered Second Lady in WNO'S
Magic Flute and performed a new commission for WNO, "Carbon 12".
Her future engagements include Perfoming in Australia at Opera in the Arboretum and then returning to UK to sing Mercedes in Longborough Festival Opera's Carmen.
